Free DIY Wood Railing in the Loft of an Off Grid Log Cabin | Traditional Woodworking

I’m finally getting back to renovating the sleeping loft in the off grid log cabin, and building free wood railings with wood found in the forest is the first step. I use a drawknife to carve spindles from sugar maple and striped maple and insert them into a split maple hand rail. I install a DIY barnboard wall to shield the loft from the hot pipe from the wood stove. In a future video, I will continue with the barn board enclosure and build closets and drawers for clothes storage and other necessities for off grid living.
